Professional School of Coruche and Town Hall To:
Educate for a better hydric future for our council
On the 22nd March, 2004, the team of Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) from the Professional School of Coruche, celebrated the Water's Day, in partnership with the Town Hall. They participated in the inauguration of water reservoirs, organized the "Water Game" and promoted the exhibition "Vagas Leves Rostos do Rio" (about the river that crosses Coruche - Sorraia). All these activities were duly accompanied, registered and dinamized by the YRE. The morning was initiated with the inauguration of the water reservoir in Montinhos dos Pegos, where the Mayor, Dionísio Mendes, focused the benefits that this reservoir will bring to the population of that place, because the public water supply will have more quality and will also be more regular. New water reservoirs were also inaugurated in BISCAINHO and Fajarda. The Mayor said that these reservoirs are indispensable to guarantee the water supply in the council of Coruche. Beyond these constructions, the water supply and clearance will continue to be very important, also because in a mid-term the water treatment will be a reality with the construction of the RWTS (Residual Waters Treatment Station) in the council. The students from several primary schools also participated in this activity by presenting some works and reciting a few poems.
